? about treating blistering.............

Patton Sep 16, 2006 10:49 AM

I have a '06 "temporalis" that , like a numb skull, I kept in a container of damp spagnum moss too long. After it shed it began to get blisters from too much moisture. I put neosporin on the blisters and kept it on paper towels for substrate. It eventually shed again and looked like it would make a good recovery. Yesterday I noticed that the blisters are back, even though I'm keeping the snake very dry now. Anybody have any experience with treating this?
Thanks for your help.

Use an anit-fungal creme like what is used for athletes foot or infants fungal creme.

There is a real good spray that I heard works excellent. It is for amputees and can only be found through specialty stores for such.

Thanks for the prompt reply, I'll try that.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I've used Betadine first aid cream, which is available over the counter, for this sort of thing. It has to be applied daily until shedding, and then once or twice more after shedding. If not applied after shedding, the blisters come back. Unfiltered sunlight also helps. Good luck.
