I put my little hatchling map turtle outside for sunshine and a natural upbringing by raising it in a 35gal. pond but after 3 mos the little fellow disappeared!!
I don't know what happened, since I'd had it with five other sliders bigger than it and they were fine. Question.
Are map turtles very agile, quick and prone to escape compared to other turtles? Or what kind of animal other than a raccoom-I don't think it was eaten by a raccoon though-would prey on a 3-4 inch map?
I'm saddened, flustered, and can't find a trace.
