Tip for feeding very small snake

railrider1920 Sep 16, 2006 10:56 PM

Just a warning: This might sound really gross to some people.

I got a couple of very small corns at a show last weekend. The guy said that they should be fed in a couple of days and that he had been feeding them live day old pink mice. Well, the closet thing I could get was 3 day old or so. I figured I'd give it a try. Seeing them in next to the snake I realized that they were way too big for them. They didn't want anything to do with them. So tonight I took out a small frozen pink and cut it in half length wise. Then warmed it up. I put them in a deli cup with the half a pink. The one snake took it right away. The other snake took it after a couple of minutes. Now I'm not worring too much about them, at least they have some food in them. So if you need very small pinks and can only get larger ones, this might work for you.
Just thought I'd share this with everyone.

I need to increase my numbers. I don't like binary code.

I cut my pinks in half for regurging babies, or ones that won't take f/t. The 'juice' usually perks the snakes right up...

After I wormed them up, I was almost regurging......
