Question.

I purchased a Everglades/Yellow rat snake in August. It`s a male and the pet store owner said he beleve it was about a year and a half old. It shedded in August and again just last week. It has absolutely no skin problems or parasites. Today I measured him and he`s almost 4 feet long. Is that not a little long for the previously stated age? Does that not sound more like a 2 year old rat snake? He has been eating one adult mouse about every 6 days. Opinions anyone.

Yes, there are people less then honest out there and they will try to screw you over but think about it.
Why would someone lie about a snake being 1 1/2 or 2 years of age.
Nothing to gain from this.
Actually a 2 year old would be worth more money being closer to breeding age and size. Saying it was younger really wouldn't add up.
And going back to what I said earlier..if you don't trust them, don't buy from them.
If something in your mind triggers qeustions, ask them. If you don't like the answers don't buy from them.
If you decide you can trust them and buy from them, show some respect and don't turn around and question their honesty the next day.

And no this snake was not purchased from me or anyone I know.

so, I will end my rant now and wait for what may follow

Four feet at 1,5 years doesn't seem unlikely for a Yellow/Everglades Rat. All 4 of my White Oak Rats have reached this length within just one year on a once a week feeding shedule.

Growth depends on a lot of things: food, warmth, individual genetics, and all kinds of other factors.

You mentioned that it was 4' long, but you didn't say how much your snake weighs. They can get long quickly without putting on girth. It just depends.

Your snake is probably the stated age. No reason for them to state otherwise, really.
