interesting sandboa photo...

On the general snake forum there is a guy trying to find the value of Sandboas from Xinjiang, the westernmost province in China. (I referred him to this page...we'll see.)

Sandboas from this part of the range have been confused for years. I have seen resources that call them tataricus and miliaris. There have been very few photos of them ever published, however. And Xinjiang isn't a very accessible part of China (for geographic and political reasons).

Anyway, here's the guy's photo. I guess he won't mind me posting it here since he is trying to drum up interest anyway -

Looks like a miliaris in pattern, but the head and size tell me it is a tataricus. He is describing it by some bogus name, but I think it is all tatar.

Interesting looking snake. If a pair landed in my lap, I wouldn't be at all dissappointed

As it turns out, this wasn't his photo at all. He found in on the web and used it to show what his snake looked like.

Still a neat looking snake, IMHO.
