Hi Guys
Just wanted to share what came out one of my clutches this year. I got this pinstriped tangerine het hypo male(not pinstriped hypo - does that make sense? hehe). When his head has poking out of the egg I thougt he was just an average tangerine but when he came out he has actually nicer that what I originally thought. I was thinking he's a hypo at first(before 1st shed) but at closer examination he seems to be a nice tangerine with reduced black banding although he already has a bit of tipping. His parents are a pinstriped hypo male bred to a wide banded het pistriped hypo female so the pinstriped genes are definitely there. I just didn't think that it would reduction of black would show on a het instead of an actual hypomelanistic. His dam's banding is somewhat reduced on the laterral side and tapers to a point towrds the belly and his banding is even more reduced than a sibling hypo, believe it or not. I don't produce a lot of hondurans so I'm curious if you guys notice this situation on you animals/bloodlines? Could this be just good genetics or actually 2 genes from the bloodline? an example of selective breeding perhaps? Here's his pic.
