breve deaths

alanvines Aug 05, 2003 01:49 PM

It is absolutely possible for us in this forum to figure out what is going on. There is something in common with every death if we don't give up. We have to examine the existing hypotheses completely and not just come up with fresh ideas every day. If we just leave it up to "experts" to get around to lookng into the problem, and just keep selling them in the meantime, we will probabably never know. I imagine this is what will happen. Again I ask everyone on here to just reply to this message with how many brevi's they have lost, the cham's sex, gravid or not, wc or cb and age if known. Or we can just keep whining about our sick chams all day. LOL. Thanx, and dont bother to post mean replys, they are a waste of time and energy for ya.

I lost two females, wc, both had laid eggs. I feel that their being exposed to extreme heat had something to do with it, but maybe they would have died anyway.

Both first started sitting in one place with eyes closed...wouldn't eat or drink and eventually died despite my efforts.

Let me know if I can give any further information. I agree...we need to find out what is going on with these little ones.

I currently have two female R. brev's...one captive born and one wild caught. The wild caught one is the one that is having on again off again eye problems. (See posts below)

Hi there, alanvines,

I lost 1 female, stayed in the smae place for about 2 weeks, then i found her dead. Vet opened her and found 2 eggs, unviable. She was wildcaught, age was unknown, and was eating crickets, fruitflys and small WC moths.

lost 1 female that was wild-caught and most likely laid eggs since i aquired her 2 months ago-she was feed small crickets and field plankton-appeared healthy and ate up until her untimely death-both male & female were housed in a well planted 20 long aquarium and the male still eats like a champ (healthy)

gosh, just read my post, sounded very harsh, I'm sorry. tomorrow I will tally up the posts and look back at the old ones and we will at least have a comprehensive list of the deaths, which should help some, and maybe make some things clearer. thanks. I hate mysteries, they give me a belly ache, lol.

...but I sensed it as your frustration coming thru, which I think we are all feeling right now...don't be too hard on yourself
