I saved this little feller from a feline-related death. Anybody know what he/she is?

That is a subadult watersnake.

Without checking a field guide, it looks like a subadult banded watersnake (Nerodia fasciata) to me, but that depends on where you are. If you are in the SE states somewhere, I go with fasciata.

If you are slightly further north, it could also be a subadult Midland Watersnake (Nerodia sipedon).

Either way, good save.

I live in north central Florida, so it must be a Nerodia fasciata banded watersnake. Hmm, that doesnt sound like one of the 3 Deadliest Snakes On The Planet. Disappointing...
