price of super salmons?

senorsnake Sep 18, 2006 10:52 AM

I've noticed the price of salmons go down in the last couple years (as all morphs inevitabley do), I was wondering how long people think the price of super salmons will hold since theres been quite a bit of their production lately (of possibles and probables anyway). I was wondering if people thought they'd go up or down, because on one hand they can be very useful in the production of certain morphs, but on the other hand I see more and more of them and think maybe quanitity will be higher than demand?

I think quality will play a huge part in pricing and demand. As more average or lower grade Salmons, Supers, Hypos or anything for that matter continue to multiply, higher end specimens will sell faster and command higher dollars.

Even now, you'll see Salmons and Poss Supers priced from $400-$1500 .

Thanks for your input. Looking through the classifieds now I even see some possible/probables going for low to mid 100's. I haven't been impressed with many in the ads lately (since I had been in the market i've kept an eye out) but I do figure most the better ones are being kept instead of sold.

Anyone out there with some nice salmons/super salmons feel like showing them off for me? :P

I think the key is that there are very few guaranteed super salmons out there and they will still fetch top dollar. Of course the price will depend on color and pattern.

I like the Orange Tail Hypo Look better than the Salmons, The more you look at pics the more you will notice, there are Ok hypos, Nice Hypos and INSANE Hypos...The one pictured in Rainbow Boas post is in the later catagory...

Here are our Poss. Super Orange Tail Hypos.

Here are a couple of the Hypos I produced this year from a Hi-Pink Hypo from Ozzy boids bred to a very dark normal female with a bright orange tummy.
I love them but for some reason they just aren't selling. I can only assume it's because I'm pretty new to online sells and my name just isn't out there yet.

We're new to breeding (online and off), I think the best way to get people to trust you is to be on the forums and to talk to everyone you can. Hopefully just the recognition of your name will be enough for some people to start, giving you a chance to build yourself a reputation. Go on the boards, go to the shows ,if you can, to network.

We do go to the shows here in the area and the surrounding areas and I do my best to get on the forums I know about. I have been using Kingsnake to advertise for the last couple of months but low and behold I just found the kingsnake forums yesterday afternoon. Anyway, you guys will probably start seeing alot of me around here.

Here is a pair of Poss Supers we bought from Rich at Salmon boas.

This boy is super clean except for a few specks here and there and he looks much nicer in person.

This boy has got tons of underlying color, not sure if he'll prove Super though.

Here are some of our own Hypo hold backs from this year.

Everyone has such nice salmons! And I do hope all your supers prove out, some of them by their looks i'd be suprised if they didn't! I purchased a super salmon the other day, ill have to get pictures up of her once she arrives.

Here is a pic of my '04 Female Probable Super. I got her from Ron Michelotti last year. She is a Rich Ihle 'PC Line'. The pics don't show how red she truly is. Enjoy! I'll prove her out next year. I'm thinking of breeding my Hog Isle Male to her and produce some really nice Hypo-Hogs.
