interesting side by side comparison.

even though kings will eat other snakes, it looks like you can obviously put them side by side for a while...least until one gets hungry. i don't mean cohabitating, i just mean they aren't going to immediatley start striking at each other, like they would around mice.

can you do a side by side with a high yellow hypo (little or no black), "standard" hypo (with some black) and a normal?

thanks for posting!

tom

I keep my floridas together all breeding season long except during laying. I occasionally even put them together during brumation. They are not as canabalistic with each other as some beleive. Now the neonates are another story. They will eat each other if left alone together long enough and especially if they get hungry or have to compete for food in the same encloser. For most people it is best to keep them seperate. I have a lot experience with these animals so I can tell when is a bad time and when it is not.

Tom i don't own any Hi-Yellow Hypos currently ChristopherD posted a really nice on in reply to this post and Mark "Crimson king" has a killer yellow female i fell in love with years ago before i started posting here.

Brooksi Adults are not as bad as hatchlings like Rainer "Bluerosy" stated, the 1st "red hypo" was getting a little pissed with others crawling over her while i was taking the pic but as far as trying to eat each other i don't think it'll happen unless ones of these snakes i near starvation... also these where all fed the day before.

Nice snakes you got there Zenny. I did not know you had so many hypos.

BlueKing Sep 18, 2006 02:23 PM

They are all nice. But I like the Cream Hypo the best! He's a clean looking guy/gal! Thanks form the eye-candy!

Zee,

that's interesting... to each his own i guess... i have a thing for Hi-reds, oranges, yellows... that Cream is far from that, but she is poss. het axanthic and i think with her coloration she'd throw some killer ghost brooksi if she proves out. if she doesn't she'll make some killer 2x hets with a nice blue axanthic.

Yes I know Tom Agosta real well. That would be my "guess" as well. But I was not asking you.

I got a "FENGYA Flame" from him a number of years back. Awesome snake maybe one of the best colored normals Ive ever seen. I ended up selling him to Jeff LeCompte. I believe Tom got most of Fengya's Kings from him from what he told me.

Yep Tom Agosta... nice Guy! the best Fl kings in my immediate area by far! expensive thou!... but Quality animals!... the funny thing is this guy wasn't the best male... i missed the best one buy seconds cuz my g/f wanted me to come get her in the middle of a crowd at the expo, when i got back to the table the male i wanted was in some guy's hand and i had to settle for 2nd best.

this guy is about 3feet long, i'm trying to get him ready for this coming season.

Nice looking collection of Hypo's ZF. I love the bottom baby Hypo. I cant wait until someday they are selectively bred to keep that baby Hypo look. I hatched out some real nice Hypo's a few years back here is a couple of shots.

Very Nice Hypos guys. Derek

ZFelicien Sep 19, 2006 11:57 AM

i gotta admit that is a Killer Hypo, most of the time i prefer the way they look as hatchlings but it turned out better as a young adult... i remember you selling that snake do you remember to whom?

Yeah I know where she at, a guy in Virginia. I had thought about making an offer to get her back as well....just dont want my collection getting unmanageable. I find I really only have time to care for and ENJOY 20 or less animals. Ive had upwards of 35 and I was always cleaning and feeding. I dont know how some of these guys with 100's of animals do it...maybe they have helpers or something.

Awesome Chris, what did they look like as hatchlings? Do you have pictures? Thanks, Derek

ChristopherD Sep 19, 2006 12:32 PM

sorry no baby pics, that guy in the pic is about 6 y/o and the pic w/fence in back ground was taken this year and the one next to blue pool is from 2 years ago.
i did get a couple 05 female babies"Sulfer hypos" (quote/unquote) last year they are yellow but not blazing sulfer

Upscale Sep 19, 2006 12:34 PM

That and the high white are the only two Brooks you should ever need. There is none better. Well then there are the sulphers. Oh yea those lavenders. Some of the stripes will be coming up soon- watch for those. Of course those blue and whites are awesome too. Ghost, oh man I almost forgot- not just the high white but with the hypo in there too- wow. Actually I have this little whitesided that is quickly becoming a favorite I'm thinking he's really going to be stunning. Yea- those are my favorites. All of those. And....
