Does anybody has the same problem?

Paradon Sep 18, 2006 06:54 PM

Well, my Savannah monitor is growing like weed, so yesterday I decided to feed it some mealworms and crickets. To my surprise, he only took one mealworm and ignore the rest. He doesn't like inverts anymore after a diet of mostly rodent and a little bit of meat. Does anybody has the same problem? Oh, yeah, when feed meat to him I dredge it in calcium and multivitamin supplement. Is this alright?

As soon as my medium sized monitors are eating rodents, quail, and chicken peeps, like seem to loose all interest in insects. I notice a few things from this point, they grow like crazy, dont need supplementation, have to spend less time eating, their stools are alot more solid, and less smelly, andfeeding because so much easier.

Be careful about over suplimenting. As in humans it can become toxic. Follow the intructions or seek advice from your vet for the proper doseages.
