Croc monitor experience

froggy2kissme Sep 19, 2006 10:59 AM

Is there anyone out there that has that some experience working with croc monitors? How different are they from other monitors? Any kind of special training tips?

I've had lots of experience with monitors and thinking about getting one because I love the monitor species, but have heard lots of conflicting stories. I just want as much info as I can get. Thanks

I have 15 years experience with this species. Basic care is not difficult. They have the same requirements as other tropical forest monitors. Except for size, and thus the additional space and food requirements.

"training" you say... If you are thinking of trying to make a "pet" out of this species, forget it. WC specimens are very defensive of their space, and one encounter with their exceptionally long teeth will send you to the emergency room.
