Indigos In Atlanta?

Rivets55 Sep 19, 2006 03:54 PM

Hey there Indigo People!

I'm going to be working in the Atlanta area for a week or two, starting tomorrow. Is there someone who knows somewhere I can go to see some Couperi? Its been about 35 years since I've laid eyes on the Holy Grail of North American Snakes. I figure perhaps while I'm in Hot Lanta the drought could break?

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks!

John D.

Sorry, you won't even be close.
The exisiting populations of GA indigos are in the SE portion of the state.

Hundreds of miles from Atlanta...

LOL!

Actually, I am aware that I won't be seeing any wild ones. Certainly not in downtown Atlanta!

What I had in mind was if there are any in local zoos, wildlife centers, private collections, etc. where one could catch a glimpse of these almost mytical beasts.

Thanks,

John D.

Zoo Atlanta has a couple. I think at least one is on display.

Lanier Museum in Gwinnett County also has one but they don't have a facility open to the public. You would have to call Mark Patterson to make arrangements.

Unfortunately, there are precious few in GA.
