Croc books

Ralf Sommerlad Aug 05, 2003 03:00 PM

Hi, guys
got 2 new books which I highly recommend:
The first one is: Crocodiles: Inside out, by K.Richardson, G.J.W.Webb and C.Manolis, ISBN 0 949324 90 6 (2002)
This wonderful book is describing the morphology of Crocodilians,
not a book for beginners, but for serous and experienced keepers and scientists.
The Second one is:Crocodilian - Biology and Evolution, edited by G.C.Grigg,F.Seebacher & C.E. Franklin
ISBN 0 949324 89 2 ( 2001)
This book is nor really new, but contains several interesting articles,Paläobiology, Morphology,Reproductive Biology,Physiology and Ecology and Behavior.
Many well known authors wrote in this book, which shouldnt be missed in the croc enthusiasts library.

Thats just my opinion, guys, not a PR job for booksellers.

I agree on the second one because I have it and while I have not read it page by page, I use it as resource.

The first one looks very interesting and is one I'd like to have but as I recall, the price was way up there - like US$150 or so??

I'm currently working on a book that despite some "technical problems" should be out later this year. Look for "Crocodilians of the World - A Scratch and Sniff Guide" at Amazon.com and other fine book sellers.

I'll be first in line for the scratch and sniff guide when it comes out.
