well after a follow up vet visit, we had to put dino to sleep. this topic started below as the menengitus infection, and was talked about in the adenovirus subject. he was infected with viral menegitus, NOT adenovirus after many conversations with vets and other breeders.
after a week of antibiotic injections, he did not get any better. in fact he got worse as time went on. it started out with minor head tremors and convulsions, i thought inner ear infection at first. but it was menegitus. throughout the treatment he wasnt eating without being forcefed chicken baby food. he only pooped once in a week and a half. his head tremors got worse, and almost constant. he lost weight rapidly and just wasnt himself anymore. he didnt move much, didnt bask under his heat lamp, couldnt stand under his own power, nothing.
he was put to sleep on monday, september 18th. he was approx 2 1/2 years old. he was a great pet and great breeder. sadly his offspring may carry the disease in them. i am having babies checked right now, as is a friend of mine who i gave some to. i did not sell any dragons to customers online, so i am thankful for that. i did sell to local pet stores but i have informed them already.
RIP Dino...we will miss you buddy
