How long before new borns eat?

fishkiller Sep 20, 2006 12:51 PM

Well my sole survivor hasn't eaten yet.Not too worried yet, but have tried mice and rats.He came out of the egg on the 7th so it hasn't been to long.Just curious how long others have taken to eat their first meal. Thanks, Ethan

Ethan,

Well you got step 1, 2, 3, and 4 down just gotta make it through step 5 huh. I personally just waited until mine looked like they had digested all of their yolk (about 2 weeks) and they took. If the snake is still fat looking ie. has alot of yolk in the belly it probably wont eat. Wait til it gets through that and then like Jason said something small that moves slowly or hops around. Rat pups tend to work pretty well if you can find them. Good luck man, if I can help at all let me know.

Hey thanks Big and Jordan. He still looks fat so I wasn't to worried.I'll try another rat pinkie/fuzzy in another week or so.I still have one crawling around right now, perfect size.Hopefully they'll still have them rat pups.I'll be posting a pic soon as he's eaten a few.Later, Ethan
