I need Virginia residents to keep an eye on the local carnivals for those who are giving iguanas, turtles, bunnies and even goldfish as prizes. I think it would be great to see the reptile community unite to ban this abuse. We know if the carnivals gave dogs and cats as free prizes, the dog and cat people would be down on the capital steps within the week.
It is time to say that many of us are concerned.
James City County, Gloucester County, Louisa County, Prince William, Warren County, Greene County and Clarke County all have fairs this weekend. Have your eyes and ears open for any news of live animals as prizes at these fairs.
