It looks like one of my hatchling's umbilical cord is still atttached. So what should i do that wont hurt it?

It looks like one of my hatchling's umbilical cord is still atttached. So what should i do that wont hurt it?
Keep it on very damp paper towels and hope it falls off. Do not pull it off.
