I saw those pics over on the other forum and got distracted before I could respond.
That is a beautiful anery.
Luckily you have a source for quail chicks.
That would not have been on my list of things to try.
It is now.
I bet the "poop" can be rather strong, though....LOL
She would be a perfect mate for Odin

I had gotten some quail from RodentPro to try (as a treat) for my other corns and black rats. She went right to it, and has steadily put back on weight ever since. I havent tried to get her back on mice or rats, but I may try again, since she has been eating so good. Maybe I can scent the mice with feathers lol

Odin is one awesome lookin' Anery A; I can send her your way next spring if you'd like

OK, I know I've posted all this before, but it applies, and the board is rather slow anyways. I had far more stuff back in the 70's back when stuff was WC. Burms on chickens, anacondas on gerbils etc. The thing that worked best for me, was feed the first item they normally eat. As they are finishing it, they usually have the head in the upright position. Hold a dead rat/mouse just in front of them, and let them continue. For snakes that are spooked easy. I just do this 3-4 times so they get use to it.

Then, do the same thing, but let them get a good hold of the dead rat, then wiggle it a bit and they will constrict it. The idea is to make them think they killed it.

This came from 2 things we use to do. one we called a choo choo train feed. It was clearly a way to get a snake to power feed, just keep adding a rat, then an other than another. We had BIG stuff back then. Then the burms seem to like chickens. We tied a dead chick to the head of a dead rabbit. Feeding birds is nasty at the clean up part. Then one of us started to shake the rabbit to get the big burms to constrict it.

It worked well on big snakes. I presume it should on smaller snakes too. But I assume nothing lol.

Good luck.

That's a good looking Anery. They may be somewhat common in the corn market, but a good looking Anery is hard to beat. I love them.
