RobertIIII Sep 22, 2006 05:26 PM

First let me say my snake does not have mites, I was just wondering if there is anything I could do to help prevent the chance of getting mites? jsut want to keep my snakes happy and healthy. so any suggestions are appreciated.

Quaranteening new snakes is probobly the single best thing you can do. Treat any new snake as if it has mites untill you know that it doesn't. Also, washing up after going to a reptile show, ect before going into you collection is a good idea.

i agree 100% with zach, do not bring new animals into your collection without quarentine.. Also, keep your animal enclosures clean and after going to pet sores &/or herp shows wash up well before handling your animals...

I now treat every new arrival for mites routinely and the 2 week isolation during treatment is just good insurance. Jeff
