Paradigm genetics and another question..

PGoss Sep 22, 2006 10:06 PM

How many of the original 2004 litter were paradigms? This breeding was a male Sharp x female Caramel breeding. Theoretically, all the babies should have been wild type which were double hets. for Sharp and Caramel. There is only one picture of a 2004 offspring on www.paradigmboa.com. That baby has pink eyes (obvious in the adult photo). That baby is albino. How many paradigm boas have pink eyes? Do they all? In the description, it reads the 2004 litter was "an entire litter of gorgeous looking babies." What does that mean? Were they all paradigms? Did they all have pink eyes? The eyes play a huge role. I have seen a boa that was identical to a T+, but had normal colored eyes? Is it still a T+? The odds Mike had don't match anything. I think the boa gods blessed him with a great, but abnormal ratio. Many questions can be answered by knowing the exact phenotype of the original 2004 litter. This will also probably lead to more questions.

My head is Spinning....

So am I wrong when I say that a Paradigm is basically a Sharp Albino Carmel?

Really intersting stuff, but I am way too tired to try and understand it now...lol

is that the all F1 offspring from Sharp X Caramel were Paradigm.

It is assumed that the Paradigm is a type of T-plus Albino because of the red pupils, this label has nothing to do with other T-plus Albino mutations, but is in place to describe the phenotype.

what is the snake in the picture...i have a female that i baught as a 100 % het for albino boa and it looks exactly like that. I have looked at hundreds of pictures of boas and have never been able to find something that looks even slightly like the snake thats in the picture. Any information that anyone can give me about what ive got is very helpful

The snake in the picture is a Harding pastel produced by Harding. The odds of you having one of the those crossed with an albino is very slim and I'm nearly certian that Harding himself never entered them into any albino project. I would guess you bought a very nice random pastel that is hopefully het. for albino (provided your seller was legit). There are many nice pastels out there. The problem being that we only see them as babies when they are on the market. We hardly ever see adult pics when they get all their color. Take some pics of your kid and let us see. Nice pastels are always appreciated here.
