That would be perfectly fine. Just make sure one doesn't intimidate the other as far as feeding and such.

I would say no. One male will likely stress out a single female housed with him. He will constantly make advances, little horn dogs. And unless they are of good breeding weight and age it's not a good idea either.

Also, unless you have housing for babies and/or very clear plans for where said babies are going to go (friends, relatives, sell them), breeding is a bad idea. They will not just produce one set of eggs, but rather *many* sets of eggs, even from only one mating. I would keep them separated unless you're prepared to deal with newborns.
