I never would of guest just how hardy some monitors can be. My cousin had a Sav monitor for a couple of years and even in his care it was slightly underkept (no basking spot/no room to burrow) but this was before I got mine and new its proper care. Now however he left it to a friend to take care of and is incredibly underkept. It has no heat lamp, no basking spot and no hiding place and it is still, considering the conditions healthy looking. It has a white spot down its spine which apprently is shed that it has not gotten rid of yet that has collect for months. My cousin says that it is still technically his so I am trying to get him to give her to me so I can take care of her better but I just thought I would share a little story of how durible these creatures can be.
