So I saw this baby thayeri...

mexicanamak Sep 24, 2006 08:17 AM

…the other day, liked her a lot and just had to bring her home with me. She’s such a cool looking little thing I couldn’t resist dusting off that camera to get a few new arrival photos for the record. I’m extremely fond of split saddles; this one has it all goin’ on in that department and a pretty nice head pattern to finish things off right. With a seemingly great and calm temperament and healthy appetite, I think this one may pass all the tests and become a permanent resident.

This one should develop into a nice buckskin or rusty brown toned adult. I expect most of the burnt orange to fade away fairly quickly. I have a few buckskin / brown thayeri with nice accents to compliment the color and it’s quite an attractive combination in my eyes.

It would be fun to see others share their favorite new arrivals or home-brew keepers?!!

You got yourself one great F2 female there, congrats! I know what a chow hound she must be, I have her sis f06 and she also eats like a little Tasmanian Devil. I also have a 2004 male from that same F1 female bred by a white leonis male and he's the same with his feeding response.

NICE. F06 is awesome, i have always liked that picture of her too on that site, i like the very subtle peach that she has, my girlfriend named mine pebble for the color that she has and pebble will eat as much as i let her and she is as calm as can be, she shed the other day and her red is getting so vibrant

have a good one

Thanks Michelle, that last photo was a lot of fun. She is a pleasantly calm and naturally curious little thing, I have this large uncut geode that I used as a perch for that piece of cork bark and I just let her investigate the whole arrangement. She eventually was able to make her way under the ledge of the bark, and reach the geode. I let her cozy up on top of the rock in her crevice there and I had all the time I wanted to get that photo. That's actually a cropped portion of a much larger shot which shows her rear end farther down the crevice.

I really enjoy working with my snakes and let them have a little fun when I have the time.
