pregnant boa question

skin78 May 20, 2003 01:51 PM

Hi this is my first year of breeding B.c.ssp. Former years I bred with eryx. But I have one pregnant B.c.ssp female .. She is pregnant since x-mas and I was wondering. I know that egg-layers have to shed before they drop eggs. But do boas have to shed also before they drop their young?? I can't remember my eryx doing that,.. Who knows?

No I am not claiming to be Jeff, He's better looking and I have more hair LOL, But what I am doing is pointing you to the website link that Jeff has provided for anyone willing to learn.
In 1996 Jeff wrote a basic step by step how to article on breeding boas. It was great info that he developed by trail and error of his own. He has provided this info so you don't have to make the same mistakes that he (and many others of us) did.
He has also made a great video tape that he sells for dirt cheap, so you don't even have to read!
But if you like reading and are willing to do so, this will answer many of your questions......
When your done reading it and getting all the info you need, it would be nice to drop a thank you to Jeff for provided the information that many "old time" breeders use to guard as cherished secrets.
I hope you find the info useful.

Jeff Ronne is a great guy who breeds great snakes (I have a pastel poss het albino and a hypo from him..AWSOME SNAKES) but the video he sells is far from a great deal (50 bucks), and the video quality is quite low..(I have the vid sitting on my tv stand right now and I am glad I didn't purchase it.lol (borrowed it from a friend) definately read the article it is great help to the beginner and the expert both.
