trying to get to me, huh?? :/ My first choice WAS a veiled and after much homework, many emails with Liddy, lots of KS lurking I decided to go for the brevi's b/c of time/money: easier setup as far as keeping humidity up, temps just right, etc. The fact that they lay in the substrate and you worry about the babies once they make their way out (tho' I am sure I'd have been obsessing had either Makeda or Kaiya gotten to that point). One of the MAIN reasons I chose them was b/c they are social - well, as much as chams' can be - as far as having a few together. Like my cats - I would NEVER have only one. They are strictly indoors and they need companionship other than mine...sorry, off on a jag there. Once I can look at the photos, again I will post some of the happier days of my trio.
For others I would not recommend the brevi's as first time chams not b/c of what happened to me (or you) but b/c they are still sort of new and a lot unknown - but then others might argue that they have been quite successful - like Morgana's earlier post, John's happy ulu's, etc. OK, I will stop now b/c I don't want to rain on the pointy little head
Again, thanks for all your support! You, Kristen and I will have to get together when I visit my Mom in Venice next December!
