Over the weekend someone stated there are some oddities that occur with "dominant traits". Oddities are not only occurring with dominant traits. There has been an oddity occurring with recessive traits for a while that I don't remember ever being discussed? I believe it always occurs within snow projects. The boa below is an example that belongs to Bill Gaines. This snake is an amazing oddity. There are a few of these floating around, and the genetics (if it is genetic) have not been discovered. I'm not going to even begin a discussion. I just wanted to share this amazing boa produced by Bill and remind us that it's only just begun.

All I know, I want one, and we need to figure this out (if it is genetic).

FUN STUFF!

My memory seems to be going fast, but Mike Joliff (one of those BP guys) had a Brindle (Calico in looks with 2 different colored eyes, tongue, and other crazy things). I don't think Mike actually produced it, but I do remember he sold his Harley just to get his hands on it. I believe it died full of babies before anything could be learned.

Others can feel free to correct my inaccuracies and add anything else.

Pete produced many brindle boas in the 90's including one that was albino from the nose to the tail on one side and I think normal or anery appearing on the other. Others had that shattered appearance with adjacent scales having different colors.

been happening for years. It's most common obviously with the hets. It's also seen in Burmese pythons, although I believe it was noy quite as common.

I have had one of each, boa, and burmese with this condition.

My only question is do they breed true as hets, or actual albinos? I hope to find out this year, but I expect he will not breed just as my Calico burmese never bred.

At this time, I plan on having this boa (male) on diplay at the NARBC Tinley Park (Chicago) show.

I haven't given much thought as to what I am going to do with him. For the time being, I am simply tossing rats his way. I do know the parents; probably back to Mom might be interesting.

PS: Nice pics, Phil ... I may have to have you back next summer if I can get my touch back for producing baby boas.

I think that's a great idea. You would not even need to pay me. I'm sure I could settle for one of something you produce next year. Then again, seeing as though you deal with the high dollar guys, maybe I could chip in $10 or so.
