outdoor enclosures what to do???

skatecoupard Sep 25, 2006 11:25 AM

What do you guy who have outdoor enclosures do in the winter months what keeps the monitors from getting to cold.I’m asking because i have two savs. that are growing really fast and i also have a baby water monitor and when they get to big for the indoor cages I’m going to have to build them an outdoor enclosuers and i was wondering if to build the cages outside or in the garage.I would rather have them outside because i thing they would be happier and i would be able to make it bigger but in the winter months it seems to cold to be out side(in the winter its like 50-70 deegers during the day and like 30-40 at night) live in Florida so it doesn’t get to cold like more north.

as i see it, you have two options.
1, you can build a heated and insulated hide box for the outdoor cage. when it gets cold i would suggest locking them inside it. i say this because i've lost two monitors in my time to cold weather because they leave their hide box to walk around and can't make it back in time.
2, you can bring them indoors for the cold months. this is what i do, and what i recommend.
