Whats A Better Choice?

zeroto4legs Sep 25, 2006 02:58 PM

two questions.

how much would i be paying for a albino boa and a 100% het albino that are not related?
And what is the better to get for breeding,
a albino male with a 100% het female, or a female albino with a 100% het male i was looking at the prices and i could save 100 buck about with a 100% het male instead of the female and was wondering if the baies will be the same like same abmount of albinos to het,

thanks for the help

It depends on the age of the boas. Breeding age female albinos generally run 3k , while most breeding age albino males I've seen for sale run around $1500. Het males $250 , and het females 1k . Of course the cost will always depend on the quality of the animal you are looking to buy. Usually its cheaper to go the albino male to het female route, and het females can regulate temperatures better than albino females.

If you got a male albino you would have a chance he could service two females het for albino and you would statisticallty have more albino babies.

How much snakes cost is related to many things, how they look, who bred them, what the line they came from is like, their age and size, a special look, in short many things. If you spend a little more on your breeders, your babies will likely look better and therefore sell better and for more money. If you buy an albino from a well known line you will have an even better experience, because people will know what you are selling.

In my opinion buying breeders is the last place you should try to get a bargain.
