We need a Pastel contest....

EmberBall Sep 25, 2006 08:20 PM

OK, we all know that Pastels have come way down in price. Boo Hoo. Are any of the designer Pastels worth a premium, or is it all marketing gimmicks. I think those with stunning examples of Lemons, Blondes, Graziani, VPI, Bell, and other Pastels should post some pics, baby pics and adult pics. I for one would like to see some side by side pics too, and decide if any one of them is worth paying a bit more for. Any takers?

My pic, from left to right, VPI, VPI, Sutherland Line Pastels as babies.

well here is my new addition a grazi/norm:

milkman2 Sep 25, 2006 09:00 PM

Here is my nicest female pastel...she is a year old and has not browned out. Still trying to decide what to do with her, pewters or supers???

milkman2 Sep 26, 2006 06:57 PM

Both previous female and this male are Graziani, have others but are much more normal looking and have browned out some... I really think that selective breeding makes the differance, I have seen good and bad of all lines and I try to breed with what I think will make the best looking animals...I would love input as to what kind of normals everyone breeds to each type of morph to get the best results although I know everyone has their secrets....and I am sure most do not want to share...LOL

This is a female I traded off a month or two ago. She was nice, hoping to have another like her some day.

Here are pics of a VPI line male i sold earlier this year. There's a pic of him at around 500 grams, and a pic of him with a 2500+ gram female, then the last photo is of him when i first got him at around 100 grams. Right now I have a 750 gram Graziani line male in full blue so I'll post pics of him after he sheds.
