no mealies, they are much too hard to digest with their thick hard chitin, if you want something slow moving, soft bodied and nutritious go for silkworms, you can go to www.mulberryfarms.com or herpfood.com if you want to give them a try

how large of a cage do you have him/her in? a 10-20 gal would make for a shorter chase and make the crickets easier to catch (if you're using a large tank).
he is in a 10 gallon

Since you just got the dragon, give him a few days to settle down into the new environment. It'll probably start eating after this acclimation time period.
Mealies should not be fed to a BD till they are at least 10-12".
i have too take that back about him not getting the crickets i put all 12 of them in with him and there all gone!!!
that great right.

Glad to hear it, that sounds great to me. Just to be sure.... check under the food and water dish, under rocks and branches. Those little suckers can hide very well.

Baby dragons should be fed 2-3x a day, as many crickets as it will eat in a 10-15 minute period. Order online if you haven't, the pet store will break you.
Greens should be offered all day, everyday, chopped fine or use a small food processor.
ALWAYS check for crickets in the tank before lights out. They can do severe damage to a beardie at night.
Good Luck with you new lil guy : )

Crickets will chew holes in a dragon while they sleep. The dragon doesn't wake up because they sleep so soundly. If there is enuff crix left in a tank, they will literally gut the dragon and leave bones.
