I am new to the world of frogs and have a baby Pixie/African Bull Frog (about 2.5" around). I have the frog in a 20gal tank with substrate (3" of peat moss with an inch of store bought moss on top), rocks and a rectangular tupperware dish filled with water and some rocks (with a reptile heating pad under the tank).
Two questions: 1) Is the peat moss a good substrate to use (are there any risks)? The frog likes to burrow in the peat with only his head visible under the moss. 2)Seems to like crickets but only eats every few days (there are usually 2-3 crickets in the tank that disappear every couple of days). I've read some posts that state the babies should be eating 2-3 crickets per day - should I be worried?
Thanks.
