I have been holding myself in check for MONTHS now, every time I see a Bairdi I have to remind myself that I really, really want things like food, and rent money, and car insurance...

I'm new to the snake thing - I saw a picture in my first snake book and it was incredible - but nothing compared to those pictures. Are they expensive?

Here's some shots of my Bairdi!

Here's a couple of pics of my 2005 female emoryi, and an older pic of my 04 male bairds rat.

Dude, you win hands down. Those first two pictures were incredible. I'll have to wait until you switch snakes before I can play!

If lead paint is so deadly why do they make it so delicious?

emoryi x guttata male, CB'93 hatchling, "Gertrude"

same as above, but full body. This pic represented his 'real life' coloring very well, but it's a crappy shot nonetheless.

juvenile leucy black ratsnake male, CB05-06(unknown) "Noodle"

and his 'glamor shot'

that little guy has caused me more greif than ANY of my other snakes, he's scrawny because he won't keep down anything bigger than a 3-day mouse pinkie (he's big enough to take rat pinks or hopper mice) and I've posted about him a few times in this forum. We're three weeks out from the last regurge, and he just took a super small pinkie yesterday and has kept it down so far... here's some crossed fingers for a FAT Noodle this time next year!

RobertIIII Sep 28, 2006 10:09 PM

Hmm.. I haven't had a problem with my leucistic hatchling, he is scarfing down 2 pinks evry 8-10 days with no problems, almost time to move up to next size! anyways beautiful pics! Bairds and Leucistics are my favorite ratsnakes! I just need to get a bairds now!!

I bought a baby one of those - and the store did not box it up properly - so when I got home, it was gone. My husband took out my seats, carpet, and console in my truck - no snake. That was at least a month or so ago - it doesn't smell yet, so maybe he made a getaway.

MurphysLaw Sep 30, 2006 02:33 PM

The pair were from a well known breeder and they would either regurge or go off feed. After 6 months of no growth, not responding to brumation I traded them off.I keep contact with the friend I traded them to.He told me that in the year he has had them they have only shed twice and still regurge and go off feed.He still has them eating pinks.
I did not type this to make you upset or angry. If you find something that works I would love to know and pass on the information.Good Luck.
