Rhino behavior

kwe Sep 27, 2006 07:28 PM

My big guy acts like a cat and covers the mess after he takes a dump. What is really funny is when the female takes a dump and he comes across it, he also very carefully covers it with dirt too. I haven't heard anyone talk about their animals doing that. I was just wondering if this was unique. KB

that is odd. On the other side of the spectrum is my male rhino. He doesnt even move when he goes. Not only that he goes on his heat pad and then lays in it till he moves or I find it. I dont think he even raises his tail. All my igs, cyclura or greens have a place they prefer or at least dont go on their heat pads or the place where they sleep. This one prefers to sleep in it. Sounds like we have Oscar and Felix

I hear that, that is why I put 1x1 pvc coated wire raised off the floor 1.5 inches in thier hide shed so they wouldn't sleep in thier crap if I didn't check on them that day. Thank goodness, they mostly crap outside, but some go in both places.
