I just bought a western about 3 weeks ago he ate a week after and not since. He turns down live and dead pinks and i had picked him up and he seemed extra docile. Could this be his hibernation period I had read about? Can anyone help me.

What are his temps? Maybe try scenting.

Yeah like what the guy before said, increase his temps if there low, and try scenting the pinky. You can even dip it in tuna juice, its worked for me in the past. Also maybe to disturb him for a week before his next feed. Good luck- Nick
Thanks I will check his temp but he seemed fine before, I may try the senting.
I wouldn't rush to scent his pinks if he has already taken unscented. I would check the temps, then keep handling down until he's on a good feeding schedule. If he hasn't eaten in 2-3 weeks then I might try scenting. Sometimes if you start scenting the snake will be hard to wean from scented pinks.
I was going to try to scent his food but I can wait another week to see I think it is just his temps that are the problem but its funny he was active before.
