Don Soderburgs New Corn Book

jcherry Sep 28, 2006 03:36 PM

I just finished reading Don's new book on Corns a second time and I am very impressed. And yes before some of you ask Why Twice, I am a little slow LOL. Even though you can tell the editors cut out some of his thoughts in different places. It is in my opinion the most comprehensive book on corns that I have seen in a long time. Thanks Don for a great resource book.

I hope that means mine will be coming soon.
I ordered it quite a while back.
Probably about as soon as it was possible to order them.
Thanks for the review.

JC

Thanks for the good review. For those that have ordered and are wondering, "where is my copy?", here's the 411. Mr. Cherry bought his copy at an auction. My publisher donated it to the ETHS (East Texas Herpetological Society) for their auction two weeks ago. That copy was the first one sold. The rest of the shipment was shipped (by raft, I think) from Hong Kong a week ago and are scheduled to arrive in Chicago October 10th. From there, they are shipped to my publisher and before the end of October, I should have them in stock. I plan to ship them out to customers as soon as they arrive.

Thanks, John for lying about the book for me and thanks to everyone else for their patience.

Don,

No thanks required, you know I try and tell it how it is. I found the book to be more comprehensive than the usual fluff and recipe you see in these size books. Did I understand you right that a large and much more detailed hard back one is in the works? If so I want a copy of that one also.

...working on it. You know how that goes. My publisher wants it in 'weeks'. It's definitely gonna be more like 'months'. Once it's done, I'll be advertising everywhere.

Thanks for asking. "Check's in the mail." lol.

The publisher also had a few copies to sell at the Anaheim show last weekend and I snatched mine up. I haven't read it all yet, but so far it's great. A big neaner neaner to those who have to wait.

I hated cracking the spine on mine since the photos were so nice, but I did want to read it. It is one of the best "How to..." books out there for people interested in keeping cornsnakes. Period. I've never said that about ANY snake book published after the mid-80's or so before, so that should tell you what I think!
