Is my humid hide good?

DarkBlades Sep 28, 2006 04:56 PM

I needed a humid hide, so I made this one, I seen one similar somewhere on the web.

So is this okay?
Im using Paper Towel as the terrain for the inside.

Will this all work? Check the picture.

And another question, when my female is ready to lay eggs, I will make a nest for her, what if she chooses to go in the humid hide or the cave I have in there?

Looks good, although I have no idea what the size is.

The only problem I see is that it is clear, and that the gecko may not want to hide in there since it will let in light. You may want to paint it, or "mod podge" it with dark fabric or construction paper.

haha I love it when I do things right. Well the hide is about 5" by 5".

Every 6:00 pm I turn off the lights, so by then, they will check out the area and hopfully they hang out in it.

I use sphagnum moss, since they have a natural behavior to dig before they lay. I've heard that paper towels work just fine though. Keep us posted on your status. Good luck! Sam

I use cheap plastic gladware containers filled with coconut husk fiber. I put the hole on the top to keep them from kicking all the substrate out of the hide. For babies I use paper towels in deli cups, but they don't lay eggs. Since your going to breed them, based on your previous posts, I would go with a more suitable laying material.

Since you use lights, again previous post, I would make the hide darker, like others have suggested.
