dead jungle carpet

zappahitmygspot Sep 28, 2006 05:55 PM

About 2 weeks ago, my boyfriend got a jungle carpet python from a pet store we always go to. Not even a week later, the carpet was dead. The pet store said that they'd had it for 2 months, and it was eating and the healthiest one they had (it had actually eaten the day we got it). My bf kept the humidity between 50-70%, and the temps around 75-80 on the cool side, and 85-90 on the hot. It was probably less than 18 inches, in a 10 gallon tank. Nothing was visibly wrong with it. Any ideas as to what could've killed it?

was there water in the tank if so how much smaller snakes need to get and find water with ease or they dehydrate and die fast then you may think

There was water in the tank. It was around the water dish when it died.
