questions on handling chameleons

chacoantegu Aug 05, 2003 08:50 PM

As my jackson's chameleon is growing older she seems to dislike me more and more and will no longer be handfed. This does not bother me because i knew that they were unsocial and expected this before buying them but it would just make me a little bit happier if she was more tame. Would me holding her more often make her less agressive or just maker her hate me more. What is the best way to calm them down.

in my experience, you don't calm them down. sounds like your girl is "hormonal", meaning that she recently matured? if so, give her time, she may come around, i wouldn't force handling on any cham except when necessary. i only take mine out when i am giving them real sunlight, or cleaning the cages.
