Rhino iguana

fjtorres Oct 01, 2006 02:48 AM

HEllo ALl,
I am new to the forum, and to the Iguana world.
I want to buy a babie Rhino iguana, but I would like any advise from rhino iguana keepers as to what I am getting into.
I also need help on where to buy one, besides reptile shows.
thanks
FT

I got mine from Ron St.Peirre and I was very happy with the animal and the service of both Ron and his wife. Be sure that you are ready to house a four foot 20 pound lizard. They grow more slowly than some other species, but it won't take as long as you may think.

The care is similar as to that for a green iguana but rhinoes don't need the high climbing trees and branches...which means they need lots more floor space.

Other than that my rhino is really cool and dog tame WHEN HE'S INDOORS. When he's outdoors in his summer pen he acts like a the wild animal that he really is. He's tames right down after a day or so back in the house come autumn.

Think about it before you buy.
Good luck,

Brian
