Ive Never once, ever, Met or owned a carpet that didn't or wouldn't eat you out of house and home. Personally, I wouldn't be feeding it pinkies, id suggest something a little bigger, Fuzzy/hopper. He will eat, also if he just hatched, could be shedding and just not want to eat.

Get him to eat rat pinkies as soon as you can. If you don't you will spend an hour or more feeding him mice when he is full grown. I have one that eats 8 adult mice a week.

I wouldn't worry about a snake that hasn't eaten in a week, especially one that is in a new environment. Just try again next week. I am assuming the snake is a hatchling and the pinkies are mice. If so, I might try a larger meal, either mice fuzzies or rat pinkies.
