I have recently completed my new BP cage made of 3/4" plywood. I only have to mount the glass now and pics will be up soon. I have a question for you all, though. I am wondering if I should put a uth inside the enclosure. I have an incandescent fixture on top with a 60w night glo and 100w household light bulb which heated my 55gallon enclosure perfectly. This was with the UTH though. I know the wood will hold the heat a little better, but should I still give him the belly warmth inside his cage? It's a 3'x2'x15" enclosure. I also have an emergency cutout for my clamp lamp, but I hate using it bc it doesnt have a switch. If I were to use the UTH, would I put it directly under a light for a basking area? I'm new to custom enclosures, especially wood so I was hoping some vetrans out there could help me. I'm trying to finish it up completly tomorrow so i could use the opinions by then. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
