So i'm hitting my first winter with my bp. I am now having temperature problems. its still 94 on teh substrate on teh warm side with 80 ambient on the warm side. however the cool side is dipping almost as low as 70 at night. is that a problem? if so, what do u guys suggest

How are you heating it? Why is the temp so much lower at night?

ok so ambient on the warm side is 80-83 with 94 on the substrate
the ambient on the cool side is 75-77 but it drops to 71-72 at night.

before, the ambient on the cool side was 80 as well but now its getting colder.

i am using a UTH on the warm side with a CHE as well for ambient heat.

Is the CHE on all night? What type of cage is it?

yea the CHE is on all night. its a 20L tank with a full glass top.

No its fine if you want it to stimulate winter changes....it is completly fine...but make sure he still...has...heat...from...a .....HEAT PAD!!!!!...yep so....make sure he is warm and give him a little blanket and a kiss goodnight...just kidding....not.....not....yep

well are any winter changes actually good? except for breeding, are there any benefits? it seems like all that comes from winter changes is... fasting, which i really would not want

Nothing really its just for breeding but i do that for all my baby balls....they dont fast...they are all pigs....they eat....and....eat....and....eat...and....eat....and...eat....and eat and eat and eat...like i said nothing really good luck maybe increase the wattage...are u keeping him outside?

of course he's indoors, the winters here are just really brutal
