AP racks new rounded corner design

SPJ01 Oct 01, 2006 07:27 PM

I really like the new look with the rounded corners.

I just wish they offered white screws with the white racks.

Do they hold humidity. Oh yeah. A bit too much if you ask me. This is with no misting. Just putting in new cypress bale substrate. You can see the condensation on not only the tub but the the underside of the shelf above. My other racks usually only have some condensation on the tubs when I change out the substrate. I am going to have to be carefull the substrate is not too damp before using it in this rack. Thankfully these are plastic and not MDF.

So you have Bluefields, as a RTB keeper myself I have seen them but never formed an opinion. How do you like them? Any Pics?

I really like them but I can only compare them to Colombians and hogs.

They have incredible color changing abilities. More than any hog I have ever seen.
They are also very docile once they get settled in.
They eat like pigs, and can be kept in smaller enclosures.

Here are a few pics of the 1.1 pair of '05's I have.

I put them together to show the huge color changing ability. The male is in his light phase (coming out of the hide to see what's going on) and the female is in her dark phase.

Here are the two together. Both have really cool tail striping.

Male

Female

Being a pig as usual.

Well they look great thats for sure although I myself still don't see the big difference. Aside from the obvious color change, and the square saddles they look very similar to the other locals. Still I am a RTB lover and and like the different morphs but still have few normals in the bunch. Still I like the interesting pattern found in the Bluefield's.
Good Luck

You could burn more holes in your tubs too. That would help a bit...
