I don’t believe ringers have been proven genetic. From time to time I have seen "proven Ringer" advertised, but I do not believe it is a proven genetic trait
Some very low white Pieds will look like ringers, but you can tell if they are Pied if the rest of their back pattern is not normal.
A ringer will have a normal pattern - a Pied wont.
Someone else may be able to tell you if there is some association between a het Pied and a Ringer. I don’t believe there is.
A het for Pied will look normal and a Ringer is a Ringer.
will not carry the pied gene? or does it?
I'm not sure there is any correlation between ringer and pied. I have heard people say that ringer CAN be a marker for pied. But, I have 7 het pieds and none of them are ringers. I also have a ringer which as far as I know is not het pied.
Steve
some het pied are ringers, but it does not mean that all ringers are het pied!
