Here are pics of the pair of hypos I just picked up from Gerold Merker. He was an awesome guy to deal with.
The strange yellow color doesn't come through well in the pics they almost have a greenish tinge to them

What makes them hypos? Just curious. They look like normal coastals to me.

the colors dont show up that well in the pics. They are a lighter almost purple color. These guys are only a few weeks old a normal coastal would be much darker at that age. The yellow is also a different color.
I will post some comparison pics in a few days after they all shed.
These lighten up a LOT as they age. You can see the grandfather of these two on the cover of reptiles magazine in 2000-2001, I forget what date gerold told me.
They definitely do look hypo to me. What I do find odd is that they are showing white and not yellow. I live in the coastal mountains near Malibu beach, Pepperdine Univ., etc. I have never seen a coastal cal king in this area that did not have a yellow background. Regardless of their age, there is always yellow.
They are definetely yellow, the pics are just in a strange light.
Those are nice. I have some too I got from Gerald and I agree they do have a slight greenish tone to the yellow.
I have a pair I got from the merkers which are about 4 yrs old now. definately hypos If i can remember I believe they are El dorado locale. The odd thing was that on the males belly there is a single jet black scale. just one definately not a scar since one of the offspring from this year also has it. Dave F
I think my "weird" Cal King may be a similar hypo.
I'll probably know more after she breeds, or after her offspring breed.
