My female redtail laid eggs on the evening of 6-24 and had the nest cavity covered the following morning. That was about 96 days ago. I gently dug into the cavity to make sure there was not a mess babies that were locked in as some of the soils/ gravels etc can pack down pretty hard. I found an egg and very gently pulled one out--without rotating it at all, it was full & plump and did not stink. So I put it back & backfilled with a looser soil mix.
Is this time frame normal? I figure as soon as I get nervous & post this , the next day I will have babies & feel stupid for getting all concerned. SO--- I am posting this tonight with hopes that they hatch tommorow !!!
Reverse psycology or just over anxious--- pick one!!!
Regards
David
