Well, I couldn't resist! They are my favorite color and my 'look' of critter and I just had to get them. At the ERAS show today I noticed a trio of Giant Ameiva's and just fell in love with them. I took the two smaller ones home and they figured that they were a 1.1 pair, but I'm thinking I may have 2 males. From what I've been able to find on determining sex the females are pretty dull colored where both of these are beautiful bright green/teal colored from just under the shoulders down. One has a slightly paler belly though. They are currently in a 33G tank until next weekend when if they are a pair they will be moved into a 90G with custom top that was designed for monitors, otherwise if they are both boys then one will go to the 90G and wait till I can find a girl or two and the other will remain in the 33G. If any one has some pics of pairs of green ameivas and could point out the differences, I would greatly appreciate it. I will post some pics of my new babies tomorrow.
