feeding time

jcaw13 Aug 05, 2003 10:37 PM

are there any insects out there that a leopard gecko should stay away from when it comes to feeding time? I've noticed quite a few beetles and small centipedes around and was wondering if tossing one in the cage would do my gecko any harm. I use the usual crickets, mealworms, and waxworms, but didn't know if other insects were ok. thanks for the help

Just to be safe, you should just stick with crickets, and mealworms... eaven waxworms aren't the best (too much fat, very addicting)... try not to feed them unless you need to fatten up your leo (if it is sickly skinny)

The leo would be able to handle eating those types of bugs, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with catching any bugs around here because they might've ingested some household chemicals or gardening pesticides.
