I am looking to bring a couple of hatchling cagle's into my home sometime in the near future. My turtle experience is with razorbacks and I have never had a basking turtle. All of the care sheets I read are for adults, so...
Question:
tank size and water depth. I know these cagle's are smaller than most other species of baskers...what size of tank would be good for 2 of them and last for 1 to 2 years?
Question:
how deep should the water be for hatchlings? I know they are great swimmers. I want to give them enough to feel safe, but not so much they are uncomfortable.
Question:
I know these guys prefer clean water...is there such a thing as too much filtration?
Question:
Some filtration is pretty darn rough..meaning the intake and out take can be strong. How do you protect hatchlings from being affected by the current to the point of being dangerous?
thanks for your help. If anybody here owns and Cagle's please let me know what has worked for you or if you have any other hints / tips.
